This curriculum was developed by a Native American father to enable parents to strengthen character and integrity by progressively building upon proven and motivating principles of Native American heritage. Participants gain a deeper understanding of how to strengthen and unite families through responsible fatherhood and motherhood. The program creates a link between past and present generations. The Fatherhood/Motherhood is Sacred curriculum is copyrighted. Facilitators are trained and agencies are certified by NAFFA, allowing them to implement the program. NAFFA also offers individual certification for independent facilitators. The curriculum is culturally sensitive and offers a solid foundation on which to build a successful relationship with children, family and community. A unique element of this program is the strong evaluation component available to certified facilitators and agencies. The three evaluation elements include a pre-test, a post-test and a six month follow-up. Learn More ... |

Alternatives to Incarceration |
Studies by leading criminal justice researchers have shown that high-quality alternative programs can successfully treat and assist people without compromising the safety of the community. We are partnering with nationally recognized organizations experienced in the criminal justice system and developing evaluation protocols to create a culturally sound and relevant Alternative to Incarceration (ATI) program which can be customized to meet the needs of individual reservations and communities. This program will offer the opportunity for substantial financial savings, and the potential to assist participants in becoming strong, healthy members of their families and communities. ATI will be built on the framework of our highly effective and successful curriculum Fatherhood/Motherhood is Sacred ,, using a problem-solving court structure. Pilot programs will start on two reservations in the fall of 2009. If you have any questions or would like more information on this program, please Contact Us. |

Quality Training That Counts! |
In recent years, family service programs in Native American communities have focused primarily on the needs of women and children. Little attention has been paid to the unique needs of men as they struggle to become valuable family participants. This one-day, forum brings community members, leaders and agencies together to develop a shared vision of the importance of engaging fathers in order to address the problems present in our communities. Through this discussion, communities are inspired to establish effective fatherhood programs to enhance responsible fatherhood and strengthen families. This presentation is fully customizable to meet the needs of your community. |
